A woman who fell from the South West Coast Path near Mawnan had to be carried to safety yesterday afternoon.
Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team were called to the scene, near Mawnan Shear, at 2.21pm.
Alongside paramedics, they located the injured woman in a "heavily wooded area" where she had "suffered a tumble down the steep path," a spokesman said.
Due to the nature of her injuries, she was fixed in a stretcher.
The team "used an unquestionably sound tree as a natural holdfast" to pull the woman up the slope, before carrying her the rest of the way to a waiting ambulance.
They were stood down and returned to base by 3.34pm
