A dog had to be rescued after falling down a mine shaft near Redruth this weekend.
Belle, a four-year-old Jack Russell, became trapped down the dry shaft, at Wheal Rose, on Saturday evening.
Firefighters from Redruth and Camborne were called to the scene at 7.35pm, alongside a specialist line rescue team.
Belle was sat on a ledge about ten feet down the shaft and was rescued using a ladder and ropes.
She had made good her escape by 8.10pm.
Andy Taylor, from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, said: "The dog was not hurt by its ordeal and was returned to its very grateful owner."
