This week committee members brought images to be critiqued by members. There were a wide variety of photographs shown, with some designed to test our knowledge because they had no point of interest, unnecessary clutter in the corner of the frame, etc.
We saw some stunning images, eg Wheal Coates at sunset with the cliff covered in heather and a beautiful backlit poppy that we'll hopefully see as competition entries next season. There were many helpful suggestions from members including photographs that would benefit from being converted to monochrome, cropped, or having other adjustments made. It was a beneficial evening, helping us to consider our images and how they could be improved.
Next meetings: May 22, a shoot on location in Penryn town, giving members the opportunity to take photographs on the theme 'Urban Landscape' in preparation for one of next year's competitions. May 29, which is our final meeting of the season where we will be treated to an evening of humour while testing our knowledge as Geoff James presents his annual quiz.
