Sylvia Richards was the preacher at the Pentecostal service on Sunday and the congregation participation was enjoyed. Sylvia likened the air in the balloon that we had blown to the Holy Spirit, which is in us. Rachel played the organ and Ruth read the lesson.

Saturday evening saw a good crowd at the annual Sankey Evening, when many chapels were represented and joined in the Sankey hymns. The evening was chaired by Jeanette Eathorne who sang a duet with her husband. Her brother, Will Thomas from St Ives, also sang a duet with his wife entitled “Face to face.”

A collection was taken for the Stroke Appeal and raised £180. There were refreshments at the close.
