PARISH CHURCH: The ringing of the bells welcomed the congregation for the communion service taken by the Rev Phillip Douglass, organist was Christine. A Christening was held during the service. In Sunday school lessons were read by Marcus and Madalene. The children designed and made a birthday card for the church's birthday which was at Pentecost. At 2.30pm members of the church went to Townshend Village Hall and held a service there for Pentecost.
On Saturday, 10am-noon, there will be a coffee morning held in the parish rooms in aid of roof repairs - raffle, cake stall and bric-a-brac stall. Everyone is invited to a farewell concert for Mr Douglass on Sunday, June 9 at 7 pm. The concert will host the Trengilley Singers and will be chaired by Mr G James. Admission is free and refreshments will be available. The evening will then move on to the St Aubyn Arms in Praze, for a pasty supper and sing song.
NANCEGOLLAN VILLAGE HALL: A special Bingo Extra evening will take place on Friday, May 31 - eyes down at 7.30pm. The Bowls Club meet on Tuesday at 7pm and welcome new members. Florence Quilters meet on Friday between 10am and 3pm, or hours to suit you - sessions cost £2.50, for more information please telephone 01209 831502.
PRAZE FAIR SHOW: This year’s show is on Saturday, July 13 at the Show Field, Trefewha, Praze-an-Beeble. There will be field events, a tent section, livestock, fun dog show, beer tent and refreshments, trade stands, live entertainment and side shows.
The horse show and gymkhana start at 8.30am and the exhibit tent is due to open to the public at 3pm. The Floral Dance will start at 1.30pm, which means that Station Hill and Fore Street right through to the show field will be closed to facilitate this.
