Chairman, Anthony Richards, opened the AGM by thanking three long serving trustees who have now retired. John Venning who has offered his time and support to the hall for the last 41 years; Susan Noye who has been secretary for the last 13 years and Barry Lugg who has been key holder as well as a trustee for several years.
The trustees have recently made an application for grant funding to update the heating and lighting system. This will benefit the community, making the rooms warmer, better lit and more economic to maintain. The overheads have increased dramatically over the last three years. The hall has absorbed these costs and not passed them on to the hirers. There was a lot of discussion about the hire fees and the trustees have had to be realistic and hire fees have been slightly increased. The new fees are very reasonable and remain very competitive.
The main hall provides an excellent venue for children’s parties, offering a stage and space for a bouncy castle and party games. Full use of the kitchen is included. It can accommodate up to 200 people for parties and shows and the fully licensed bar is available at no extra cost being staffed by volunteers of the hall.
The hall is an ideal venue for a wedding reception. The hire fee of £180.00 is for 24-hours and includes the use of the main hall, reading room, a fully equipped kitchen with cooker and fridge. The licensee will be happy to provide any special drinks you might require.
We need your continued support to remain viable. All enquiries please contact the bookings secretary Anne Rowe, 01326 280631.
