The family service on Sunday, the Day of Pentecost or Whitsunday, was taken by the Rector, the Rev Lesley Walker.
The Rector spoke of the dynamism of Luke’s description of the of the Spirit, the wind, fire and flame, the confidence given to the disciples that they could make people understand, and the creation of a new community that would become the church. We should be aware of God’s Spirit in all we think, say and do. The lesson was read by Pauline Arnold and the organ was played by Andrew Woods. The service on Sunday at 9.30am will be a eucharist celebrated by the Rector.
We were again lucky with the weather on Saturday when there was a good turnout for the coffee morning and plant sale which raised over £150 for church funds. Thank you to everyone who provided plants, baked cakes, served teas and helped towards this success.
