Parish communion celebrated Pentecost, the feast of the Holy Spirit which is also known as Whit Sunday.
The dominant colour was red, as in the tongues of fire that symbolise the gift of the Holy Spirit. Betty Booker, lay reader, preached and spoke of the Spirit as the very breath of God which transformed utterly the early disciples, saw the birth of the Church and joined heaven and earth together forever.
Canon David Miller presided at communion, assisted by the Rev Dorothy Noakes. Michael Thomas read the lesson, Diane Barlow led the prayers and organist was Richard Berry.
Junior Church had an interesting time learning about the difference between good and bad choices.
