A Falmouth policeman well known for his public presence on Twitter and for organising the "Gangnam Policeman" video earlier this year, has been suspended.

Sergeant Gary Watts (picture below) faces allegations of gross misconduct and has been temporarily removed from his post while an internal inquiry is carried out.

Falmouth Packet:

A Penryn woman who admitted drinking “a considerable amount” before driving was arrested by police after she called them from a telephone kiosk. She told officers: "OK. I drove. I am guilty."

Despite being sworn in as mayor of Falmouth for the 11th time on Monday night, Geoffrey Evans admitted to the crowded room that he was “more nervous than I have ever been.”

The wartime bombing of Penryn was remembered with a special memorial service at the weekend.

For the third year running the event, which took place at the town’s Memorial Gardens, paid tribute to the 18 victims who died in a raid on the town in May 1941:

Helston and West Cornwall MP Andrew George has been made to pay back more than £22,000 worth of profit from a taxpayer-funded London home.

Huge crowds turned out for the Queen's visit to West Cornwall last Friday, but one little known excursion was her return journey home via Helston's RNAS Culdrose.

While the flags and bunting may have been packed away after the Queen's departure from St Michael's Mount, the royal visitor remained in Cornwall for a little while longer:
