Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team linked up with police on Monday after a call out for ‘high risk’ missing person.
The team joined police at Swanpool Beach just before 10.30pm, starting their search at Swanpool covering the shore and cliffs all the way upto the ‘Silver Steps’ carpark at Pendennis, while the Police took the high path through stack over to Maenporth.
A spokesman said: "Given the large search area, team requested the Falmouth ILB to assist in the search. They launched and routed to Maenporth, commencing their search concentrating on the shore and rocks from there to Swanpool".
He added that the team carried out a, "very thorough search of the area" with nothing found, other than an old shotgun cartridge, which was handed into the police for disposal".
After regrouping with the police, new information was been recieved and team were tasked to search the footpath and foreshore at a gardens in the Mawnan Smith area, as the missing person had connections there.
After another thorough search nothing was found. Enquiries still ongoing.
