Tickets have gone on sale for this year’s Cornwall Air Ambulance Summer Ball, with guests able to dance the night away against the backdrop of the iconic red helicopter.
The Summer Ball will be held in the hanger at the charity’s headquarters on Friday July 27.
Tom Matthews, fundraising co-ordinator for the charity said: “It’s great being able to use our hangar for events such as this, it’s a really unique space that we will make look absolutely stunning.
“We are inviting people to come and join us for an evening of great food, live entertainment, casino, and of course, an auction with some unique prizes.
“Maybe you would like to spoil someone in your life or get together with a few friends and make a night of it, what ever the reason, we would love to see you there and we can guarantee a great night.”
As well as seeing inside the hangar, which will be spruced with all the glitz and glamour you would expect for a ball, guests will be able to find out more about the work that the charity does and even win a dinner with the aircrew.
Paula Martin, chief executive for the charity said: “It’s really important for us as a charity to be able to open our doors to the public and the summer ball is a great way to do that.”
Earlier this year the charity announced a new helicopter contract, due to start at the end of 2014, significantly increasing the number of missions that they can fly.
“Being such a vital emergency service it’s very easy to forget that we are a charity that is 100% funded thanks to the generosity of the general public.” Added Paula.
“People are often shocked to find out that we don’t receive money from central or local government and that without the public and businesses supporting us we simply wouldn’t be here.
“The Summer Ball is a great excuse to celebrate the service, dress to the nines and have a ball.”
Tickets and tables for the Summer Ball can be booked for through the trust’s website www.cornwallairambulancetrust.org.
