Organisors of the second Garden Truro festival are gearing up to celebrate the city's parks, gardens and open spaces.
Throughout the four day event there will be a garden marquee featuring seed trays and a painting exhibition from local schools, children’s workshops, storytelling and exhibitors including Duchy College and The Cornwall Bee Keeping Association.
Show gardens by Truro City Council, Trevena Cross Nurseries, Tresillian Garden Centre and Burncoose Nurseries will provide great colour and vibrant activity offering the chance to talk to the experts from the city’s Parks Team and buy some great local produce from the other stallholders on offer.
Roger Gazzard, clerk for Truro City Council said: "The city council parks team do such a tremendous job throughout the year of keeping our parks and gardens looking fantastic.
‘We want to bring the best of the city’s green spaces to Lemon Quay in the heart of Truro for the public to learn more, pick up some expert tips and enjoy what’s on offer.’
The date has not been announced for Truro in Bloom judging this summer, but it is expected to happen during the week of the Garden Truro festival.
Richard Budge, parks manager for Truro City Council said: "The best part about Garden Truro is that we can bring our work with the community and Truro in Bloom into the public domain to see exactly what we do’ This four day gardening event will take place on Lemon Quay from 10 – 13 July.
