Packet readers are being given the chance to name a new ‘local landmark’ near Penryn.
In celebration of Global Wind Day next month, people have the chance to name the two turbines at Roskrow Barton Wind Farm outside Penryn.
Winners will be announced at an open day at the wind farm on June 15, Global Wind Day.
To enter readers must name each of the Roskrow turbines, and in 30 words or less write a brief explanation of why they picked the names.
The lucky winners will take home a prize and have their winning name engraved on a plaque on the wind turbine, which will remain in place throughout its operational life.
To enter e-mail entries to info@regwindpower.co.uk. The contest is open to all ages, with entrants asked to put their name and age on their entry and submit it by May 31.
Roskrow Barton Wind Farm will be welcoming visitors between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, June 15 for free turbine tours, face painting and other family activities, as well as refreshments in aid of a local charity.
