Young dancers from Falmouth have helped boost the bank balance of a charity which provides support for terminally ill children to the tune of £2,000.

The money was the proceeds of Lynn Paula School of Dance’s production Celebration Dance Nation which was staged at the Princess Pavilion back in February. During the final performance it was announced that the dance school has taken on a new identity.

The business has been bought by Victoria Keast, who had been principal of the dance school since 2010. She said: “I have been running the school for the last three years and have just bought the business so the time was right to give it a new name.”

Seven young members of the newly named Victoria’s Dance Academy were on hand this week when Margaret Symons, of the Children’s Hospice South West, visited to receive the cheque for £2,000.

Mrs Symons confirmed that the dance school has raised almost £10,000 for the charity over the past five years.
