The owner of the Trelowarren Estate near Mawgan has become vice-chairman of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association.
Sir Ferrers Vyvyan takes over from Michael Williams, who has moved up to chairman.
Mr Williams had previously held the position since 1997.
As vice chairman, Sir Vyvyan will become even more involved in the running of the annual Royal Cornwall Show, which this year takes place from Thursday to Sunday next week (June 6 to 8).
His appointment took place at the annual general meeting of the association, at which Cornwall's Lord Lieutenant Colonel Edward Bolitho was elected president for this year and Her Royal Highness the Countess of Wessex became president-elect.
