A woman had to be cut free from a car after crashing on the A30 near Chiverton Cross in the early hours of this morning.

The woman's silver Peugeot was found on it's side in a field nearby after smashing through the crash barriers.

A fire service spokesman said that one appliance from Redruth and the rescue tender from Camborne were mobilised and crash rescue equipment was used.

The casualty was cared for by Westcountry Ambulance personnel, with her injuries not throught to be life threatening.
