It was time to “bee” happy for pupils at Halwin School when they took part in workshops related to their buzzing buddies.
The children have been enjoying sessions organised by Nature Workshops and Forest Schools.
They have learnt about bees and their ecological importance through completing a wealth of activities for National Science Week.
Each child has taken part in a nature workshop using the footpaths and fields around the school. This has included them taking a closer look at the wildlife around them and also pretending to be bees buzzing around the field.
The youngsters have then taken their learning home to help them create their own ‘bees’ to enter in a school competition.
Teacher Catherine Hendy said: “The children have really enjoyed learning about bees and have come up with some amazing competition entries.
“It was very difficult to pick a winner in each year group.”
The workshops were funded by councillor Loveday Jenkin through the Cornwall Council Community Chest Scheme.
