On Sunday morning the visiting preacher from Leedstown, Ruby Brown with Paul Coombs, welcomed everyone to the service.

Paul Jenkin (organ) with Megan (flute) led the music for the hymns and Psalms.

Our preacher decided to tell the children a story at the very beginning of the service so that the children could go downstairs earlier this week. Using characters from the world of Walt Disney, the Gnomes, all brilliantly painted by her own hand!

Holy Bible readings were from the lectionary, 1 Kings chapter 8 v 22-33 and 41-43, Psalm 96 read alternately by preacher and congregation, Luke chapter 7 v 1-10. The Story from 1 Kings chapter 8 retells Solomon’s prayer of dedication for completion of the house that God wanted built. Although King David gathered all the building materials for the purpose, God would not allow him to build, because in effect he had been a war lord. Luke chapter 7 reports on the Roman Military Officer with the sick servant, who asked Jesus for help at this stressful time, Jesus commended his faith. “People of evil nature can never defeat Christianity.” Prayers were offered in support of Christians who are being harassed and even killed for their faith, persecution occurs in about 50 countries.

Later coffee time was held.

The evening service was a local church arrangement.
