PARISH CHURCH: Morning prayer was taken by the Rev Len Jepp. His sermon, referring to the two readings, talked of God’s love for everyone. Solomon asked God to listen to non-Israelites and Jesus also demonstrated love for non-Jews in His healing of the centurion’s slave. We must follow Jesus’ command to “Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you” and must remember that we are not the only ones that God loves. Lessons were read by Lindsay Hockley and Mr Jepp.

The service on Sunday, the start of Mawgan Feast Week, will be a eucharist at 9.30am celebrated by Mr Jepp.

FEAST WEEK: The Feast Week will commence at 6.30pm on Sunday with a thanksgiving service at the War Memorial led by Mr Jepp followed by a free concert by the Gweek Silver Band in the recreation hall. The Trengilly Singers will be performing a light varied programme of popular songs in Mawgan Church on Monday at 7.30pm and events will continue throughout the week. Details are on notice boards throughout the village and in The Meneage Messenger.
