President for the day on Sunday was Bob Muxlow who welcomed the speaker, Paul Lucas from Teignmouth, and visitors from Solihull and Pershore.

In the afternoon Paul used the theme of ‘inheritance’ to link all three daily readings. In Hebrews he looked the New Covenant through Jesus: in Joshua he mentioned the inheritance of the Israelites in their land and in Isaiah was recorded the inheritance of all believers which they are waiting for in the kingdom of God. The message from the New Testament was for believers to hold fast to their faith.

After sharing tea Paul gave a presentation showing why he believed in the return of Jesus. He shared his journey to belief from a young lad living in troubled times in the sixties to his baptism in 1966. The Bible encourages all believers to ‘watch and pray’ and Paul gave his reasons for belief as the eyewitness accounts of the resurrection of Jesus, the reliable record and corroboration of it, the accuracy of many predictions, the challenge of creation and the signs of the times.
