LUMC: All-Age worship for the Junior Church Anniversary was led by local preacher Paul Benney who, due to illness, stepped in at short notice. Members of the congregation joined in the “Road to Oz” sketch and Kathryn Willoughby was excellent as Dorothy. The Junior Church sang some songs. Matthew Bird was presented with a Youth Bible, a gift from the Junior Church as he moves to secondary school next term. The organist was Gerald Verran; the steward, Joyce Delbridge. The next all-age worship is on June 16, a Celebration of Music in Worship, with musicians and singers taking part. Tea and coffee will be served at 11.40am, during which donations will be welcomed towards the work of the childcare charity “Action for Children” throughout Cornwall. Being Fathers’ Day, gifts are being prepared for all the gentlemen in the congregation. Come along and enjoy the music.
The preacher leading the service on Sunday will be Catherine King and Junior Church is also at 11am in the Sunday schoolroom. There is a United Section service at Goldsithney church at 6pm, so there will be no service at Leedstown in the evening.
Shelia Archer sent her thanks to Leedstown chapel for their Water Aid donations of £47.50. The Circuit total was £ 759.35.
