A hit and run motorist knocked down two cyclists near Penryn in the early hours of the morning last week.

The police are appealing for witnesses following the crash, which took place on the B3292 heading uphill towards Treluswell at 1am on Saturday, May 25.

A white vehicle that is “thought to be car,” failed to stop at the scene, investigating officer PC Andy Mulhern said.

"Both cyclists were fortunate to escape serious injury," he added.

Anyone who saw a white car with damage to its nearside light and bodywork around the time of the incident is also urged to contact the police.

“This appeal also goes out to any garages that may have had cause to repair anything of similar description,” PC Mulhern said.
