A luxury car went up in flames in the northern part of Penryn this afternoon.
Firefighters were called to Western Place at around 4pm to find the car, a grey Jaguar S-Type, well alight.
A spokesman for Cornwall Fire and Rescue said a fire engine from Falmouth was already mobile at the time of the report.
Using breathing masks and hoses, the firefighters were able to douse the flames before levering open the boot and bonnet with crash rescue equipment to make sure the fire was fully extinguished.
The fire was reported to the police at 4.45pm. Arson is suspected.
