www.falmouthtallships.co.uk - the essential website promoting all the Falmouth activities for the 2014 Falmouth to Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Regatta was launched this week.
With just over ten months to go, excitement is building and plans are being put in place in Falmouth for the largest international sailing event in the South West in 2014.
Working with Visit Cornwall, Falmouth based design company 20/20 has been awarded the contract to produce all marketing material for the Regatta. 20/20 have built the website, which will be constantly updated as and when the shoreside programme developments are confirmed and when ships sign up to take part.
Jaimie Sibert, Managing Director of 20/20 said; "We are thrilled to be involved in promoting such an iconic event and to play a part in creating a brand that truly represents both Falmouth and the spirit of the majestic tall ships.
“The website has been designed to contain all of the information in a easy to navigate way so that people all over the world can find everything they need to plan their trip and be a part of the build up as the excitement grows.”
The website is THE place to go for everything you need to know about the Regatta in Falmouth, with links for all aspects of this exciting event. This includes how to become a trainee member of a ships crew to sail in the race itself; how to sign up as a volunteer to help visitors or the ships get the most out of their visit; which ships have signed up for the race and of course all the activities on shore.
Sam Groom, Festival & Events Manager at Visit Cornwall, Cornwall Development Company’s tourism service, comments “It is great to be working with such a well respected Falmouth design company and to share their expertise. 20/20 have been very generous in their support of the Regatta and we welcome them on board as an Event Supporter.”
The Regatta in Falmouth takes place from 28th to 31st August 2014, with entertainment and activities throughout the town. Tall Ships will be open to the public, onboard visits and day sails, live music and entertainment, exhibitions and displays, children’s activities, town crew parade and a firework finale. The parade of sail promises to be the highlight of the Regatta, as ships slip their moorings on Sunday 31st August. A flotilla of hundreds of boats of all sizes will provide a fitting send off as the ships make their way to the start line.
