Firefighters were called to the A30 at Carland Cross this morning after a report of a lorry fire.
Fire crews from Truro and Newquay Fire Stations attended the blaze in a lorry "carrying tarmac".
When crews arrived the fire had been extinguished by the driver using a dry powder extinguisher. The crews used a spill kit to deal with a diesel spill on the road.
The A30 at Carland Cross still has slow traffic due to the earlier vehicle fire. All lanes have reopened and police say the lorry should be recovered soon.
