Firefighters were called out to an electricity transformer on fire at Newbridge, between St Just and Penzance, this morning.
The fire left hundreds of homes with out power.
One fire appliance from Penzance attended just after 9am and the crew stood-by while engineers from Western Power Distribution isolated the electricity supply.
Once the scene was declared safe, firefighters left the scene in care of the engineers.
