On Sunday, Candlemass, the Rev Stephen Tudgey celebrated holy communion at 8.30am and at 10.30am the service of sung eucharist commemorated the presentation of Christ in the temple.
Mr Tudgey was the celebrant and lessons were read by Robert Martin and John Pyatt. The choir sang as the anthem Harris's "Holy is The True Light". Organist was Angus Webster.
This was followed at 6pm by choral evensong with Mr Tudgey officiating. The sermon was given by reader, Jan Winslade; lessons were read by Michael White and Jan Winslade. The choir, conducted by Angus Webster, sang Wood's "O Thou the Central Orb" for the anthem and Brewer's settings for "The Magnificat" and "Nunc Dimitis". Organist was Michael Hoeg. We thank Jean Chard who is sponsoring the floodlighting for a second week in memory of her husband John.
