A special family service to celebrate the feast of the presentation of Christ at the temple, also known as Candlemass, took place on Sunday.
In a church lit up by candles and decorated with beautiful flower arrangements, the Rev Heather Aston took us through the story of the visit to the temple with a reflection where members of the congregation read the reactions, to the birth of Jesus, of Mary, Joseph, Simeon and Anna.
Lessons were read by Lindsay Hockley and the Rev Heather Aston and prayers were led by Pauline Arnold. Each member of the congregation was given a candle to take home.
The service on Sunday will be a eucharist at 9.30am taken by the Rector, the Rev Lesley Walker.
