AN archaeologist and world authority on prehistoric cooking from Truro has come up with delicacies from research into what our ancestors ate at this time of year - and there's not a turkey in sight.
The fact that Jesus Christ was not actually born at the time has not deterred Jacqui Woods who, on Christmas day, enjoyed a Christmas dinner of clay-baked whole Salmon, duck in grass with blackberries, followed by wheat and fruit cakes covered in honey.
Mrs Woods came up with her delicacies after research into what our ancestors ate at this time of year 10,000 years ago. She only used ingredients that would have been available to the Celtic inhabitants of Britain in the Mesolithic period 8000-2700BC.
Mrs Woods lives near Truro and has an archeological dig and a Bronze Age roundhouse on her land.
