The B3292 in Penryn is currently closed both ways at The Praze junction with Truro Hill, as work is carried out to remove dangerous fir trees.
The road had earlier been closed at the Treluswell roundabout junction with the A39, while forestry workers carried felled the trees.
A spokesperson for Cornwall Council said: "There is an emergency closure on the B3292 to allow for some fir trees to be taken down before they fall down.
"We don't know when the road will reopen, although the work is being carried out with some expediency."
