Falmouth funeral directors W J Angove and Son have supplied earthquake victims in Pakistan with emergency relief equipment worth £1,060 this year, thanks to members of the public helping them to raise money for the Helston-based charity ShelterBox.
An open day to raise awareness of the charity in April, at the office in Webber Street, raised £1,100 on its own. One of the large tents, which are included in the boxes, was on display along with all the other tools and supplies for members of the public to view.
The firm then hosted an art exhibition with work donated from local artists.
Along with a collection box on display in the window, sales of the paintings contributed to the £740-worth of equipment sent to Java in May and the £116 sent to Lebanon in August.
ShelterBox supplies survival equipment to areas of the world hit by natural and other disasters.
