Planning permission is being sought to demolish the Wave Crest Cafe at Lizard Point and replace it with a new home and integral garage.
The cafe has been described as a “mediocre building in an area of outstanding natural beauty” which occupies a site within the heritage coastline.
Architect and agent Gerry Whitehall says in support of the application: “Being a prominent site in an area of outstanding natural beauty and coupled with the structural defective nature and poor design inherent in the existing building, it follows that a new building will improve this landmark site both through its design and material sustainability.
The proposed new house would have three bedrooms and two parking spaces.
