HAYLE Runners have announced details of the fourth Mount's Bay 10k road race which has rapidly established itself as one of Penwith's major participation sports events.

Once again the race will be the second event in the Cornish road running's Sandy Hill Grand Prix series. It will be held on Sunday, February 4, at 11am with a start and finish at Marazion Community Centre. Therace is run over the back lanes of Plain-an-Gwarry, St Hilary and St Erth before finishing up the testing hill at Gwallon Lane, Marazion.

Chairman of Hayle Runners, Alan Shepherd, who is acting as the race director, advised that meticulous planning has been undertaken and the community in Marazion have been very helpful and encouraging.

This year the club are hoping to encourage some runners to raise money for the Cornish Heart Unit Fund and Alan asks local people who would like to help the clubs nominated charity to contact him on 01736 791903.

Details of the race including entry forms are available from the club's website www.haylerunners.co.uk or by contacting Craig Tonkin on 0797 3256568. Race entries are already coming in and it is anticipated the entry will be full by mid-January. As there will be no entries on the day, runners are advised to apply immediately to avoid disappointment.
