The main Falmouth to Helston road has been closed by police this evening due to fears a fuel station sign could topple over at any moment.
Police have closed the road at the Treliever Roundabout due to fears over the safety of the sign at Longdowns.
The sign has come away at the bottom and is wobbling. With the strong winds forecast, the road has been closed as a precaution.
It is currently being held up by a crane, until it can be lowered to the ground in a controlled manner.
Cars are being diverted around Ponsanooth and Stithians.
