Bad weather forced many planned New Year celebrations to be curtailed or held indoors but that did not stop revellers from the Falmouth and Penryn areas enjoying themselves.
Unlike most parts of the country, where strong winds and heavy rained dampened the spirits of those seeing in 2007, in Falmouth and Penryn the pubs and clubs were packed with people, many in fancy dress and in a party mood, determined to enjoy themselves in style.
Although there was a police presence in the streets of the town, there were no real problems for the long arm of the law.
As the clocks struck midnight, the sky was lit up by fireworks being set off all over the area. Sirens sounded as ships in and around the docks signalled the start of 2007, and church bells rang out.
Packet photographers were also out and about in the town to capture the celebrations.
