A COLLISION between an HGV and a tractor and trailer on the A30 at Tolvaddon on Tuesday night caused long delays when the road was closed to allow debris to be cleared.
The accident at around 6pm on Tuesday, January 2 took place on the A30 Eastbound carriageway at Tolvaddon, Camborne.
An articulated heavy goods vehicle struck the rear of a tractor and trailer being driven in the same direction.
The tractor jack-knifed and became entangled with the HGV, causing the tractor and trailer to shed its load.
The driver of the HGV was taken to hospital at Treliske with minor injuries. The driver of the tractor was unhurt.
The road was closed to traffic to enable debris to be cleared and to remove the heavily damaged vehicles.
Local diversions were put in place and the road was closed for three and a half-hours. Police said the patience of the public caught up in the tailback was appreciated and allowed the emergency services to clear the road as soon as possible.
