A CCTV camera has been installed at Kerrier district council's new base in Helston in an attempt to stop anti-social behaviour in a blackspot area.
The addition of a camera on top of Isaac House at the Angel Centre has been welcomed by town councillors. They hope that the camera will reduce the amount of anti-social behaviour in and around the Sunken Garden area, often as the result of youths congregating there.
In a letter to Helston town council, James Wakeham, Kerrier council's corporate property manager, confirmed that the camera had been put on the building and that signs would be put up "in the near future" warning people that the cameras would be monitoring them.
The town councillors agreed to write a letter of thanks to Mr Wakeham and the district council, with Helston mayor Ronnie Williams adding: "It's good news."
