Our Lord’s teaching in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew chapter 5) uses illustrations about light and salt.
Both of these were dealt with by the preachers on Sunday.
Paul Benney led morning worship, and the well-attended service concluded with a spirited rendering of “Shine, Jesus Shine”. Organist was David Philp.
The vestry service in the evening was led by Pauline Reed, who compared the properties of salt with the ways in which Christians need to be “the salt of the earth”. Godfrey Richards was the pianist.
