The eucharist service on Sunday was celebrated by the Rector, the Rev Lesley Walker.
In her sermon she referred to St Matthew’s gospel where Jesus sets out the key elements at the base of Christianity, encouraging people to return to the basics of Jewish law. There is a need now to recapture respect, have consideration for each other as well as God and, as Jesus bid, be the salt of the earth and the light in the world today.
Lessons were read by Mary Wood and the Rev Heather Aston, who also led the intercessions including special prayers for those affected by the adverse weather in the West Country.
The service on Sunday at 11.15am will be morning prayer taken by the Rev Heather Aston.
