Do you love to work with your hands? Do you have want to learn to be a potter at the renowned Leach pottery?
The Leach Pottery is looking for a beginner apprentice to join its busy production team. Previous experience and formal qualifications are not required but candidates should have a mature approach to learning, be willing to follow instructions, be good at working within a team and have a passion for and interest in crafts.
You will receive training in all aspects of production and studio activities and by the end of the year it is expected you will contributing to the production of work for our shop and other outlets.
This is a 12 month paid contract with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding. Preference will be given to candidates from within Cornwall with little or no previous experience or training in pottery.
Founded in 1920 by Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, the Leach Pottery is among the most respected and influential studio potteries in the world. Over the last hundred years it has forged the shape of studio pottery production in the UK and beyond.
