One person has been treated for smoke inhalation after a lightning strike set two Stithians homes on fire last night.
Fireighters from Camborne and Redruth were called out after a call from the public at 11.20pm.
A fire service spokesman said: "On arrival it was found that two semi detached properties had been struck by lightning with one property heavily smokelogged.
"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property with a high pressure hosereel jet and a thermal image camera, a fire was located on the first floor and crews extinguished the fire and proceeded to ventilate the property."
Other properties in the area were searched to ensure that a power surge had not caused problems.
One person was treated by Westcountry Ambulance personnel for the effects of smoke inhilation. Fire & Rescue personnel stood by until the arrival of Western Power.
