The Castle Beach Cafe in Falmouth has lost its battle against the waves.
Owners Steve and Jayne Gray have been fearing the worst for over a week and yesterday the front of the cafe succumbed to the onslaught of the sea.
It has now collapsed, with the inside of the cafe now open to the elements. The roof is having to be propped up.
Writing on their Facebook page Mr and Mrs Gray said: "Thanks for all your good wishes. We are getting the roof propped up so we can get all the stuff out, at least it's stopped with the torrential rain."
The Falmouth Hotel has offered the cafe some storage space.
"Let's look on the bright side, the loss adjuster said that wall needed to come down anyway, so that's one less job needs doing! We will rebuild it, and hopefully before summer," added the couple.
