Despite the foul weather there was an excellent attendance of keen photographers at the three-way competition involving the local club, St Ives and Helston.
Chairman Dean Evans gave a welcome to the visiting clubs and introduced the judge for the event, Thelma Hope.
The first-class entries in both print and projected images were scrutinised in detail and her helpful comments were taken onboard by the enthusiastic photographers. St Ives, with a total of 312 points, were the eventual winners, with Helston 298 and Falmouth 284.
Local club member Gerry Curtis is to be congratulated on securing a maximum 20 points with his outstanding atmospheric print study of mud flats.
This Thursday's meeting is devoted to a learning curve with laptops, and a table-top photoshoot is also envisaged and when members are encouraged to bring cameras and exchange information and ideas. Details were given on the forthcoming photojournalism competition to be judged in March when the categories are "Home" and a general subject.
All meetings are held at the Athenaeum Club on Thursdays at 7.30pm and details can be found on the club's website.
