A tutorial evening for members to bring their cameras and practice taking still life photographs from table top set ups was held.
Subjects included a model tank and a Meerkat. Chairman, Mark Walker, followed on from last week's portrait competition with a portrait tutorial which proved very popular as a lot of members listened, learned and photographed the model. Our thanks go to the lovely Debbie for sitting for us and especially for her patience!
We had a pleasant social evening with more experienced members sharing their knowledge, helping others with questions about their cameras, Photoshop techniques and using gels for both flash photography and when taking black and white images.
Next meetings: Wednesday, February 19, there is no meeting on Thursday, February 20as we are visiting Carnkie Camera Club for a critique evening, where each club will show a selection of images for comment. Thursday, February 27, Round three of our Ken Farnell Cup competition, judged by David Chapman. The set subject is All About Water and there are also open and monochrome sections.
Meetings take place each Thursday at 7.30pm at The Space, Penryn RFC, Kernick Road, Penryn TR10 9LF. It is a friendly and welcoming club that aims to help people improve their photography skills. If you would like further information on the club, please telephone chairman Mark Walker on 07518 299379 or visit the club website at www.penryncameraclub.org.uk or find us on Facebook.
