On the evening of Thursday, February 13 in church an excellent concert was given by the Cornwall Youth Choir singing a variety of music from Handel to Philip Stopford and Russell Pascoe.
The impressive standard and beauty of the music sung by this young choir and soloists, conducted by Christopher Gray and accompanied by Luke Bond at the piano (as well as playing a solo piece on organ), was much enjoyed and appreciated by the audience.
On Sunday the Rev Stephen Tudgey celebrated holy communion at 8.30am. At 10.30 our service of choral matins followed with Mr Tudgey officiating and lessons were read by Michael White and Valerie Pitts. The choir sang Britten's Te Deum in C conducted by Angus Webster with Michael Hoeg at the organ.
There followed the presentation by local NADFAS Heritage Volunteers of the completed volumes of The Record of KCM which were received with a blessing of thanksgiving by Mr Tudgey. Their project leader, Effie Harvie, responded explaining the areas The Record covered and thanking all at KCM who had helped them over the last three years.
The service ended with Angus playing Bach's Toccata and Fugue. After which everyone enjoyed refreshments in the hall and there was further information provided by Garth Letori with slides on the work involved. The clergy and congregation expressed their appreciation to all the team, with special thanks to Effie Harvie and Barbara Warwick.
This was followed at 6pm by sung evensong with the Rev Roy Howe officiating and lessons were read by Patrick Clarke and Michael White. The anthem the choir sang was Mary Plumstead's setting of The Evening Prayer, Michael Hoeg was the organist.
