On Tuesday, February 11, 14 members enjoyed a visit to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency at Pendennis Point.
They were met by Roger Mason, Watch Officer, who gave a fascinating presentation in the theatre, where members learned of their work, and the importance of the Falmouth Station to all mariners, and how strong the need is to keep it open. This was followed by a introduction to the advanced technology in use today, essential for the success of their work.
All the members present found the visit most enlightening, and enjoyed the visit immensely.
We have member, Jimmy Miller, retired coastguard to thank for arranging the visit.
