METHODIST CHURCH: Chris Smith led the service on Sunday morning taking as his subject the “no hopers” - those people mentioned in the Bible who turned out to be leaders. The offering was collected by Christopher Trounson and accompanist was Sybil Benney, flowers were given by Brenda Lawrance.
Next Sunday at 11am the service is a Holy Communion United and the appointed preacher is the Rev Beverley Turner.
VILLAGE HALL: The monthly whist drive will be held on Thursday at 7.30pm with MC Ian James. Cash Prize Bingo returns on Thursday, February 27 at 7.30pm.
Week commencing Monday, February 24 the village hall will be featured on BBC Spotlight. Unfortunately at present we do not know which evening. The Spotlight team visited the hall as part of their short history series they are showing in conjunction with the centenary of WW1. Our hall was sited at RNAS Mullion at Bonython during WW1 where it was used by the YMCA for the servicemen who were stationed there. Cury parishioners purchased the building after the war for a recreation room and erected it on its present site where it is very well used.
To book the hall for a function contact Jeanette Dodd on 01326 240045.
