CHILDREN from Constantine School enjoyed a day making African style art on Monday as part of this term’s safari topic.
Pupils from all year groups took part in the activities, which included mask making, screen printing and pasta collages, while listening to African music.
Head teacher Liz Brand said: “They had a fantastic morning; it was a wonderful opportunity to have small groups working together.
“In the afternoon they swap so they have a go at two different activities.”
The children are covering the topic all term, and have looked at such topics as African art and culture, and wildlife, as well as issues such as income inequality and apartheid.
They were helped by teachers, teaching assistants, parent and guardian helpers, and local artists, as well as pupils from Penryn College.
The finished work will be displayed at a Save the Children coffee morning in the village on Saturday, before being put on show.
