Caught with 17 bags of cannabis in his car, an Ashton man pleaded guilty at Truro’s magistrates’ court to illegal possession of the drug at Penzance in October.
Martin Jonathon Davies, aged 25, of Prospect Row, had a female passenger and two children with him in the car at the time said Alison May, for the Crown Prosecution Service. Police officers found the bags in a footwell.
Davies told them he had just bought the cannabis for £140 from his local dealer. It was for his own use but occasionally he would share it with a friend. He had previous convictions.
Davies was fined £75 and ordered to pay £105 costs and surcharge.
