A former mayoress of Helston and Porthleven has died at the age of 95.
The funeral service for Mrs Chris Andrews took place last Saturday at Porthleven Methodist Chapel, in her home village.
Her late husband George was mayor between 1968 and 1970, when both Helston and Porthleven were covered by one borough council.
Mrs Andrews, formerly of Sunset Gardens in Porthleven, was a member of the Fore Street Methodist Church in the port for 50 years.
She also used to nurse the elderly at Meneage Hospital in Helston, which has since been turned into flats.
Mrs Andrews has been described as a “lovely, lovely person” and a “much loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother” by her family.
Before her death, on February 4, Mrs Andrews had been living at Poldhu Nursing Home.
Donations are being taken for Porthleven Methodist Chapel via funeral directors David Mitchell and Son in Porthleven.
